Now, don't get my title wrong. I love to cook. Most of the time, I'm pretty good at it, too! I'm not so much a "recipe gal," as I am a "these ingredients work together, these seasonings smell good together, let's give it a shot," type of cook. Just like all cooks, however, there are times when my creations turn out wonderfully, times they outright fail, and times that, well, they don't look all that pretty, but they sure do taste good! It happens, what can I say?
Realistically though, cooking really is a "forced" pastime. I mean, if we expect to eat without going out to dinner or picking up something from the nearest McDonald's, we're going to be cooking it, whether that means throwing together a sandwich, or putting together a full-on sit-down meal.
This means that, with my great love of cooking, you're likely to see some recipes here from time to time. In fact, I currently have two attempts in the near future that are already planned: a wonderful cheesecake recipe (yes, I use recipes for baking, just 'cause it's more of a combination of both art and science, rather than just an art!) and an attempt to make maple syrup-flavored pancakes. For the former, I LOVE cheesecake, and I plan on freehanding a raspberry sauce to go with it (the recipe I found and that I will be sharing DOES come with how to make a raspberry sauce, but I've made strawberry sauce plenty of times, so I'll probably freehand this with my own twists as well!), and I'm sure you'll hear alllll about how the pancakes come out after I finish them. I'm going for the flavored ones, simply because it's so much cleaner to give my child foods that aren't coated in a sticky, runny mess, and what parent doesn't like having less child-related mess to clean up, amiright?
So those are just a couple of little sneak peeks at some of the things that you have to look forward to here! :)
